As long as you're putting in the work.
I like lifting heavy, therefore I´m now using machines a lot more in the gym (to protect my joints, which have always been smaller/smallish, but this does frick up other areas- especially the shoulder for me).
In my day, my bench was 335, squat was probably 380, and deadlift, I´m thinking slightly over 350. All I remember with exactitude is bench.
I´m pretty disciplined, try to vary or mix it up, and am quite pleased with my physical being. Mental, well, that´s another issue, isn´t it?

The mental part is not only hell, for me, it's more important than lifting the weight.
When I get on stage, if I'm not mentally right, it shows and I can never win

It's the only fair way to settle this dispute once and forever. The grease don't lie.

Would be a lot better. I plan to be hairier than a Turkish oil wrestler

I got an invite back in 2008, when I first started competing, to do a bodybuilding show in Lake Charles.
The details were there were 5 competitors, all men, and it was at one of their houses.

I remember the days of aol chat rooms. I just graduated high school and training in powerlifting and was lean enough to try bodybuilding if I wanted.
Anyways the amount of creepy 45-50 year old men who were married that would message me to dance for them was unreal. All bc I put that I like to lift weights on my aol profile. It was sick

quote:I'm back in the 1000 pound club after about an 8 year hiatus from it. Basically, I had an non-weight lifting injury that took me out for a bit and when I returned, I turned to other types of workouts to include crossfit. But, I think I have always liked being the powerful little fricker that surprises people, so, here I go again.
theres actually a bunch of medical science that shows that cardio endurance training is increasingly bad for you as you age, and strength training with heavy weights is better.
I'd love to make it to the 1200 pound club but that may be a bridge too far which is all good. I mean, I am an old fart.

What's a respectable bicep curl on an EZ Curl for someone at 165+ pounds?
Posted on 3/26/15 at 3:05 pm to ShortyRob
I'm in the 1000 club now and I'm getting up there in age. I did it in the Louisiana State meet last year.
I haven't trained heavy exclusively, like I was doing last year, but I've managed to up deadlift and bench another 30 or so lbs combined.

Dude they offered me thousands of dollars. Never done it
Heck when I was working as a manager for a physical therapy clinic back in 09 I had a patient who offered me a trip to Vegas and holland just to watch me have sex with women while he hid in the closet.

I had to shut down last spring for a few months after a near miss on preacher curls.
I was working through an early set of 110 or so and I felt my left shoulder tweak forward. I put the weight down immediately. I thought, initially, that I may have torn/strained a bicep tendon, but I believe I had a subluxation of the left shoulder that healed over time with rest and Advil.
