It is fair to think that Chavis may have made decisions in preparation for the Notre Dame game and during the game that were intended to impair LSU's recruiting. Why should Chavis deserve any benefit of doubt given he knew he would be departing for a direct competitor?

Before the A&M game and any rumor of Chavis to A&M, didn't someone on here post on the RB about the coaches trying to discuss recruiting with Chavis in the war room and him getting belligerent and walking out? The dude tanked the whole year and Corey Raymond/Kendell Beckwith/Kwon Alexander bailed us the frick out.

I've never seen the defense more unprepared than they were going against Wisconsin. If it weren't for Wisky's DT getting knocked out and Tanner McEvoy playing more as a safety than QB then we would've lost the opener.
It was the same stuff in the Mississippi State and Auburn games too. Completely unprepared, outmatched, and outcoached. The offense was expected to be a steamy pile of crap but the defense was loaded and with veterans too.

He started impairing LSU recruiting 3 years ago. Supposedly one of the best DC/LB coaches in the nation and only sign 2 LBs in 2 recruiting cycles? Linebackers should have been beating down the door, they wernt
Another question I have is how he stopped JFF in 2013 when our D struggled, but couldn't stop a true Frosh QB for ND? Or Dak, or Marshall we got raped up the middle last year
