Can you talk while running?

for the first 1.5-2 miles, i can. i usually check it by singing whatever is playing on the headphones

I may try slowing it down a bit and see how it feels. Don't get me wrong, for the most part, i feel great while running. Much better than i did a month ago. Like most of you have said, boredom may be a part of it due to being confined to a treadmill

Treadmill running is the pits, man. Do you have a few streets in your neighborhood or is it one street? I find I do a lot of good running at my own pace (not trying to break records, but still trying to maintain a good heartrate) when I run outside. Try running in the cold or rain, too. It can be fun.

I don't recommend running in the middle of the day in the summer. I know you got little ones and all kinds of responsibility so time is of the essence, but if you can keep it to early morning or late afternoon (even then it's hot from the leftover heat on the street from the day), do it.
