In the summer your AC will make gallons of water a day. If the unit is dripping sounds like your drain line is plugged and needs to be cleaned. Is pour a bunch of drano down it first.

The pan that you are emptying is the secondary safety collection point incase the regular drain line plugs. There should be little to no water in the pan.

This thread reminds me I need to go pour drano in all my AC drain lines.
