No, what I'm saying is that when ISIS invaded Iraq they used a lot of conventional infantry tactics to take ground. Sure, the used bombings and IEDs by locals who were sympathetic to their cause behind Iraqi lines to create havoc and then assaulted Iraqi positions using the same tactics that modern militaries use. The Iraq army wasn't prepared for infantry assaults on their positions.
I see what you are saying. I wonder if them fleeing was due to not caring about Sunnis areas of just them being a bad military? If ISIS did a full assault on Baghdad I'm curious if Iraqi military would stand their ground better.

Only conventional tactics they used were violence of action to just overwhelm a pussy arse Iraqi army.
I read somewhere that they used some pretty good tactics. Set up bases of fire and flanking assaults and what not.
Of course it helped that the Iraqis suck balls

It was more to do with the IA being pussy. Over whelm them with fire power and some heavy guns, 20mm and such. Those IAs would beat feet to avoid conflict

Another question I have for military people. When we initially went in Iraq to fight them after 9/11, were we fighting Shiite and Sunnis or was Iraqi army back then mostly Sunnis? I also read alot about how Iraqi army is fighting alongside Shiite militias, was that the case when we were going into Iraq? Or were Shiite militias on our side?

Republican Guard and Saddam were Sunni, even though they were the minority.
Eta: the Shiite militias became prominent after Saddam fell. Al-sadr is an example.
