It has been rumored for over a year that he was leaving for a position with a professional sports league. He is going to be Head Investigating Counsel for NFL. He has twice served as US Attny and was a Marine officer before being ATF director. Time for him to make some money before its time to retire. Man has done his civic duty in service to his country.

I would venture ammo ban has nothing to do with his departure.
