What is the value of restricting breathing?
None.

There's a video of Ridley working out with one? I guess some folks think they work. The idea of restricted breathing workouts has been around for years. Idk if they really work or not but seems like they would increase efficiency of oxygen delivery. Couldn't hurt.

The Arkansas basketball team actually wears those during workouts.

I saw a guy last week wearing this in the gym. Definitely looked strange.

Couldn't it though?

I get why her expertise on giving head is relevant but I don't care what a doctor thinks about why low oxygen training doesn't work.
Those silly doctors with their fancy "training" and "science"
What do they know about exercise physiology?

If you are talking about the masks that deprive you of O2 then using it while exercising is worthless and dangerous. If you want the added benefit that living at high altitudes give you then you need to reverse that idea and wear the mask 24/7 and only take it off when you exercise, not the other way around.
I doubt you'd want to do that though unless you love looking like Bane all the time

Bas Rutten puts out a oxygen uptake trainer that is just a mouthpiece that works really well

I know that Richard Sherman is an advocate of wearing one. ALthough I'm sure he's paid to say so.
But, I've read that most of the less expensive masks do NOT simulate high altitudes. Rather it just restricts breathing.

They only work if you talk with a cool super villain voice while working out.

"A short explanation of how this works is simple. When you breathe against resistance the lining in the lungs essentially stretches out allowing the alveoli’s surface area to become "stretched" thus in return allows for more blood flow to the alveoli for more (oxygen transportation).”
Could you put this on your pene?

So it works like an Incentive Spirometer.
Ok.
Ok.

Actually, some doctors don't know shite when it comes to weight training.
I wouldn't use one, but doing high rep supersets, barbell complexes, and less than 90 seconds between sets will have you body thinking you are in thin air.

I have one and love it. Has really helped me get better conditioned but i also have a garage gym and dont wear it to the gym to look like a giant tool.
It doesnt affect red blood cell count like training at altitude does but it does train your lungs, diaphragm and it does make you better at breathing while running.

This is all I assumed it would do, much like swimming.
