16 is legal in alabama, so I don't know if they can send her to jail for anything other than a public sex act. But I may be wrong. Which may also be a reason it doesn't make the news as often in a lot of cases, they just fire you and move along.

If a kid starts a rumor like this, the teacher is guilty, regardless of whether she did it or not. There is no protection from the school board. The union may provide legal assistance, but the public will find you guilty either way.
If you are attractive, do not become a teacher. It's not worth it.

The guy probably could not pay attention because he was so horny. So she did what she had to to make sure his grades were kept up. maybe she really cares about her students' future. She should be commended.

I went to high school with the teacher and her husband. He was rumored to be gay for years. Maybe he wasn't giving her the D.
