Here's what I don't get. When this whole entire "movement" or whatever with all these other kin freaks and such first started, how did it ever take hold enough to where it entered the public? Why wouldn't the first 4 or 5 weirdos who said they identify as a stapler be met with "shut the frick up you idiot" and that be the end of it?

Here's the thing: Tumblr is like their designated gathering place. It looks worse there because the weirdos are more concentrated and feed off each other.

Because these people are in reality less than 1% of the population. They don't show this type of stuff in public because they are ridiculed.

Social media gives the weirdo in this town an avenue in which to connect to the next towns weirdo and bam! next thing you know you have hundreds of them on one form of social media where they start promoting their stupid BS
