Not much production from any of our four main bigs. From time to time one of them will have a really good game, but their job is mostly defensive and helping draw defenders to create shots for our guards.
Abu can be pretty good offensively sometimes. Anya is mostly all about dunks, put backs, etc. Washington has never seen a shot he didnt like, including 3s, which is why hes been riding the bench so much. Freeman is about the same as anya.
They do their best when Barber can drive and dish to them right under the basket really

Probably a little underrated, but they rely heavily on their guards. The primary forwards are 6'8" and 6'9". Should be advantage LSU

I bet on NC State a few games this season, here's my insight:
-Really good guards led by Trevor Lacey and something Turner.
-Play good on ball defense.
-No real dominant big man. A few 6'8"-6'9" guys, but none of them are big scorers.
-I expect LSU to try and win down low, while NC State keep it outside. Definitely think LSU is the more complete team all around, but NC State can be dangerous if they get their guards going early

They are very young in the front court with no dominant players.
Primary rotation is two guys who are 6'8 and two guys who are 6'9. They do have a guy who is 6'9 300 pounds.
NCST is a very guard oriented team. Lacey, Turner and Barber do most of the scoring. Those 3 alone account for about 60% of the points for NCST. They don't have a big who plays more than 20 minutes a game.

They rely heavily on guards for production. Their big men are there for rebounds and defense. They shouldn't give us a problem, but if mickey consistently gets out of position, they will crush us with offensive rebounds. It just all depends on what LSU team shows up, and I have no idea who it will be. I compare NCState to Ole Miss in terms of their guards and big men. Not style of play or anything

Watched NC State play 4 or 5 games this year (2 against UVA). Turner and Lacey can heat up and allow them to beat anyone, but their most dynamic and important player is Barber by a long shot. He's as quick as any guard in the country and can catch fire from outside as well. If you limit his penetration, they are quite beatable. If he drives and dishes all game, including kick outs to Turner and Lacey, they can be a nightmare.
Both games against UVA were close and low scoring and Barber was largely ineffective in each. Because he couldn't consistently drive the lane, they had almost zero offensive production from their bigs in either game.
Limiting Barber is priority #1. Makes their other guards create their own shots and eliminates offensive threats from the front court.
Also, Turner still hates to play defense and he can still be frustrated easily by a solid defender. UVA put Nolte on him for most of the second game at least and Nolte limited him pretty effectively. Nolte, while a solid defender, is not the most athletic guy in the world, and yet made Turner a non-factor.
