I actually really like Sunshine, even the 3rd act
Boyhood is actually a good example. When I saw it, I liked it. But on rewatch and after thinking about it, I can't help but hate the main character and the movie overall just feels gimmicky now

Yep. Boyhood is the best example (IMO) bc it literally won awards and praise on concept alone. Not quality of final product.
