Dude you don't take a 15 person party and walk into a busy restaurant and expect a "crunch lunch" sorry it took longer than your allotted time. You can't think that is normal right for an entire office to walk into a sit down place when a waitress probably already has 3 or 4 tables serving anywhere from 9-13 patrons?
Get a clue. You got a free meal, wouldn't even cover the tip out the girl has to give to the bartender and host, and you wondering why you got the stink eye?
Yeah she didn't have to pay for your meal so to speak but she actually LOST money by serving you. She tips out a percentage of her total sales for the day and your meal showed up on her total sales.

Did you have reservations for a party of 15?

I believe you tip for service. I base a tip not on the food cause they are not cooking it but on if they keep my glass full and they at least check in to see if I need anything. If they are absent why tip someone for nothing?

If you're so worried about your work then how about staying and actually doing it.

Basically. No tip from me though.

This doesn't add up with your story.
*USUALLY* is the operative word here.

A party of 15 is huge. An inexperienced server most likely can't handle a party that big. I have seen restaurants put two servers with a party that large.
Anyone who has ever been a server knows how difficult it is to wait on a party that large
It doesn't excuse the wait time, but she admitted that she made mistakes. Why be a dick and not tip her at all?

quote:You know when a party of 15 just strolls into a restaurant in middle of the rush hour and you are a busy waitress and the host sits them in the only open place they can throw tables together real quick and the manager tells you "they are yours, do your best, sorry they didn't make any reservation but we don't turn away guest", then you do what the frick you can to cater to these people. But when you just have too much work piled up on your desk there is only so much you can do. The fact that it actually cost the girl money out of her own pocket to wait on the guy which probably took away from her taking better care of her actual tipping customers is the reason he got the stink eye from his co workers... he didn't need to tip 30% but he could have dropped a couple dollars and realized 1)dont show up at a resturant in a rush with 15 people 2)if you do, don't expect it to be a crunch lunch and you be back to your desk in 45 min

Are you trolling or just making assumptions? We called ahead and were there at 11 sharp...3 other people were there when we arrived and there's seating for AT LEAST 150 people.

I always tip. Because I don't want to be that loser who doesn't tip a employee that makes their living on tips.
So dumb.
You are an enabler.
Do your job right , get rewarded.
Suck and tip will reflect it.

just making assumptions
Majority of the time it's the management and not the server. Or the server was just tossed to the wolves not being able to handle the load they are given.
Doesn't change the fact that it was a 15 top which is no easy task first off and second off she actually had to come out of her own pocket at the end of the shift to tip out a percentage of her total sales to the host/bartender.

With your 30-50% tip lie, I'm sure it didn't take you an extra hour

Do you really think you possess the ability to accurately distinguish truth from fiction and extrapolate personality traits based on limited comments on a public forum?

My logic is simple....don't deserve a tip, don't get a tip. They have a job to do, and I'm not gonna pay them not to do it
