There have been other great years for younger audiences but the late 80's were pretty lacking when it came to great at least somewhat kid-friendly films. The best films in 1987 and 1988 were mostly rated R. 1989 was the notable exception since you had films like Batman, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and the Little Mermaid.
