I love my job because it doesn't feel like work.

It's blossoming into the greatest job.
Slowly...

it certainly is, and you are absolutely doing this the best way and at a great time, next step, after getting your jet of course, is airlines, and I can help with that

Just need to figure out when to make that jump.

Love my job... Not there till end of month and getting paid. They take care of me well... They must like what I do... They say just do what you need to get better and your job is waiting for ya when you get back... Can't beat that.....

Yes, it is perfect for where I want to go - I work in tech at a "start-up" sized company that is very well funded, both privately and by the state. I am getting a lot of valuable experience. It took a lot of work, failing and getting back up again to be where I am, but if all goes well, I will get to stay here for a while, and I will be able to build my own team within the next year or two.
My pay is still a bit on the low side ($48K), but come July there will be a raise that will get me where I want to be.
I'm 25.

For the most part. Just had my annual review, I'm awesome by the way, and told them I wanted to get involved in more projects throughout the company. Boom, as of yesterday, I'm part of a larger compliance project. In the long run, that will be very good for me.

that's the beauty of your scenario, you can do both while fulfilling the commitment, might need to get a little time on the side for the airlines but you will have plenty of info available from guys in the squadron

I do not like the work I do for the most part.
I do, however, like the people I work with. I like the stability it provides my family.
So with that, I'm content with my job.

True. I'll figure it out in a few years. First things first.

It's about 50/50. I like the stability, money, most of my coworkers, and about 3/4 of my clients. Management blows smoke constantly and really don't give damn about employees. Also, long hours and very stressful at times.

if that were all it took, probably burn through that much in a couple of months with maintenance and new engines, there usued to be a civilian outfit in Austin that operated a few, Tracor I think?, most of the rest are at the bottom of the GoM

Engines only have 200 hours.

Then eat that same food every meal for the next 30 years.
