Yeah I know I'll get blasted for this but whatever

For the past two days she's gone up to the bowl, sniffed and turned away. I chalked it up to the food being stale or tiresome.. So I went get soft canned food. She was all about it and sniffed..then walked away.

Is this a serious cause for concern?

1. She was fixed about a year ago and has had her shots in the last year also

2. Appears to be in good spirits.. Not meowing a lot to go outside or anything like that.. She runs around in the yard normally

Is she walking slowly or looking ill? Is she drinking water?

I'd give it another day and try again with fresh dry food and/or the wet food. And if still not eating, I'd take her in just in case.

Have you been changing the types of food she gets?

Cats don't like their primary food changed. Mine have been on the same dry food for 15 years. I'll occasionally give treats but dry food 95% of the time.

Cats can also be picky with wet food. Plenty of cats won't eat a wide variety of wet food.

My cat has done this twice in the last two months. He was running fever one time. Both times they never found anything wrong with him and he was back to normal a few days later. He kills a lot of rodents so I figure he probably got sick from one of them.

If he doesn't eat food for over two or three days I would take him in

Make sure she is drinking water.

Keep her inside as much as possible for 24 hours and see if she eats - It's possible she's snacking on something outside.

Also easier to keep an eye on her behavior in a controlled environment.

I'd get her to a vet soon. Cats will go into renal failure if they aren't eating.
More than likely, she has an infection she needs to be taken care of.

you need to call the vet tomorrow. a rule of thumb is to call the vet if your cat has gone more than 24 hours without eating or drinking.

you don't want this to go too long. at about 7 days without eating, your vet may insert a feeding tube to force-feed because after 2 weeks of not eating, cats are at high risk of hepatic lipidosis.

She's probably just really effective at murdering the local bird population and getting full off that

you might want to try feeding her tuna in water to see if she will eat that.

Blow a huge bong hit in her face. If she doesn't eat or drink after 30 mins, take to vet

Take her to the vet tomorrow. Mine did that-wasn't interested in food or water. She seemed fine other than that. Turned out she had advanced stage cancer. Cats are very good at masking sickness.

Go to the vet. The girl I am seeing lost her cat 2 months ago because someone had shot it with a pellet, probably years before, that poisoned it and killed it. It stopped eating before and an x-ray right away might have saved it. It's unlikely that's your situation but if you love an animal vet bills are worth it .
