For very young children that can't communicate well, I agree that sleepovers aren't a good idea. Once a kid gets old enough to know what is going on and tell me about it, I think sleepovers are okay as long as you vet the situation well. You can't go through life too scared all the time.

This. Part of the reason I pay to send my children to school where I do.

Our kids always had sleepover friends. My son had a friend whose parents moved in his sr year and that kid lived with us for almost 5 months.

Never worried about it and nor did any of the other kids parents. We knew them and we're not weird.
