The only way to prove adultery in Louisiana is to have pictures of actual intercourse.

This is dead wrong

If a P.I. Has pics that the person in question went into someone of the opposite sex's house and stayed the night…. The law assumes sex happened

Correct, I discussed it with my attorney & a PI agency, which was extremely expensive for a reputable one. They were going to be "staking out" the gf's house all night to get timed video of the ex being there all night, going into the house & leaving. ...

The problem is finding a reputable one to trust which will actually do what you're paying them for. I think that's what the poster was intending by his comment about many PI agencies being scams. ...

Again, proving adultery, thereby speeding up a divorce, does not help the person receiving temporary alimony unless they're going for permanent, which is a crap shoot as to if you're even going to receive as much as you're getting temporarily. ...

From what I understand, through my attorney, the best option is to agree to an amount for temp spousal support (which is usually more than a judge awards), and wait the year long period, plus 6 months after divorce is final, in which temp spousal support is given, and retain the right to file for permanent support, if warranted. ... Permanent support isn't guaranteed, is risky, monetarily, in most cases, is extremely expensive, and divorce court is not pleasant, even for the person not at fault, & especially for any children. Negotiating a larger amount of support in the beginning for the required 1 1/2 yrs., & maintaining the right to go after permanent later, if necessary, worked out, financially, much better.
