I enjoy a spectacle. I don't go to movies to have my outlook on life challenged or changed. I go for an entertaining couple of hours, nothing more.

Too many to name. I definitely have my own taste.

Let The Right One In
I can't even watch this one again to see if I can get the love for it.

I'd say Avatar, but that has pretty widespread hate, it just made 2 billion dollars. Gladiator, probably more so.
Truly loved films, I'd probably say:
Frozen for sure. Probably Cars. I hated every Pirates of the Caribbean movie after the first. A Beautiful Mind.
I'm fairly ambivalent towards Castaway.

Should be noted I didn't hate any of the above other than Million Dollar Baby, just hated certain aspects of the others.
I think most people hate that film, has there been a more forgettable "Best Picture?"
Well, maybe Marty.
(At least Crash hasn't been forgotten simply because it's so bad. MDB is just...so blah.)

But you have to understand that when you decide to post your thoughts, opinions, tastes on an open forum, you are going to receive feedback.
My feedback to you is you have terrible taste in M/TV.

My old username had LSU in it, and I ended up going to A&M... Can't imagine how that would go these days.

I don't know why you constantly laugh at facts. You can't argue that The Dark Knight Rises holds high marks on the two main websites for critic reviews; nor can you argue the fact that it appeared on 147 critics' Top 10 lists, with 11 of them ranking it as their #1 film of 2012. That makes it the 14th most critically acclaimed film of 2012, according to CriticsTop10.com. So, yeah, the critics loved it.
The film made over $1 billion worldwide, had an "A" CinemaScore, and is currently sitting at #59 on the IMDB Top 250, the second highest ranked film released in 2012 behind Django Unchained. And that's with almost 1 million users rating the film so not all of them can be Nolan fanboys or alters. So, yeah, the film was also loved by general audiences.
Now THIS is an opinion. Therefore I can't and won't laugh at this because it's a matter of subjective argument. However, you can't argue with what I posted above because it is objective fact.

Of course it isn't the worst film of the decade, but it's probably Nolan's worst film by a good bit.

Okay but the point of the thread wasn't to inform people about your opinion on their taste in movies.

I can understand not loving No Country for Old Men. It takes a certain personality to appreciate it.

I'm sure we'll get a lot of Dark Knight Rises responses.
For the record, TDKR is not my answer, nor has it really been anyone's answer in this thread. Therefore, not a fact. At least not yet.
quote:
It was universally acclaimed by critics and filmgoers alike,
Not a fact. You just said on this board that it would be mentioned in this thread, and it hasn't. Although, people do critique it. I'd say about 50% of the people who saw the entire trilogy that I know see the film as at least subpar compared to the other two. People can chime in here, but regardless of that, it isn't "universally acclaimed." That's Toy Story, The Wizard of Oz, Snow White, Casablanca, etc. Not TDKR.
Not a fact.

There's your first fact. Well done.

yet the movie snobs on this board believe it to be the worst movie to come out this decade.
Also, not a fact.

Should we take a vote on this? This isn't an opinion, this is a hypothesis that I'd take a sizable bet on.

It was LeonPhelps that decided to reply to my comments to another poster. It was his decision to take offense to something that wasn't even directed at him.
I have no beef with him until he involved me.

I write it up as guilty pleasure, but everyone that hates Crash is probably 100% spot on.
