That's my next step. I'm gonna be out of town for a week so dog won't be there either.

I REALLLLY hope she complains while I'm out of town so I can destroy her credibility.

She also has two cats that come in my yard which is HOA violation. I can't decide if I should let my 85lb lab take care of them or if I should report it.

wouldn't that have negative consequences for you?

Report it or hold it over her head.

Hopefully you aren't actually the neighbor that doesn't hear their dog bark all day.

How close are the houses that she can hear inside your house? She's old, unless it's a townhouse or really cheap she can't her.

Actually...you need to have a dog bark recorded. Set it to go off once and make sure the barking dog is going ape shite for a minute or so. She will complain to HOA. But you say the dog was gone all week. She loses all credibility. Dick her too.

sounds like an oddly familiar story. The last one ended with antifreeze. Hope this one ends better.

Send the old lady some apology cookies.

Yeah, I'm sure it never barks at night and I'm sure those yards in your "nice" neighborhood are large and your homes aren't super close together either.
