people overreacting way to much on this. If anything LSU not signing financial aid agreements benefits LSU.
Kids that want to be a part of the program will come. The small percentage of days taken away that we can spend on the road won't make a difference. We will recruit the best and if they have the chest they'll be tigers.

Not sure most people realize how sanctions work. LSU will get it's day in the sun with the appeals comittee. This is just the letter of the law from our compliance department and the SEC. The NCAA will investigate to see if this violation holds water

How does the sec appeals process work?
You said a lot without really explaining anything

The SEC is just upholding a NCAA rule that was self reported by our own compliance dept. In the end there will be a NCAA investigation and they will have the final say. Even if they say it is indeed an infraction then LSU can go through the appeals process to refute any evidence gathered by the NCAA investigation. These sanctions are not written in stone yet

At Penn St their defense would be don't pentalize the players that had nothing to do with it.

Lets see you bring in a team of lawyers like Auburn and threatening to sue everyone and it goes away right?

No. The SEC handed down a penalty
You've still said absolutely nothing.
You're bringing up NCAA appeals when the NCAA hasn't even made a ruling
You're talking out of your arse. SEC should have stayed out of it

Which the NCAA has the authority to over turn. Go back and look at other self reported infractions, the conference always hands out a penalty first but the NCAA will either uphold it or overturn it. This is a NCAA rule that was a violation and is therefore governed by the NCAA. Take the Miami U sanctions recently, the ACC gave Miami a 7 scholarship reduction before the NCAA even got involved.

For me, this will be interesting to see how this "appeals process" plays out.
If I understand the process correctly, I can see why a conference (in this case the SEC..) would rule in any given circumstance in a way that brings the full brunt of punishment into play. That way the conference would not appear to be too soft for any infraction. Yet knowing in the appeal process the NCAA can mitigate the ruling.
On the other hand, I cannot fathom how LSU (or any other school for that matter..) could perceived to have benefit in any way under these circumstances. Therefore why punish them at all..

If only the SEC office would treat ALL SEC schools equally

It's such a bullshite rule though.

Uh, no they don't.
They can put their own sanctions on, but the ncaa has no authority to overturn the SEC

Uh, yes they do. You don't like to research before spouting off do you. The NCAA has the right to overturn any self reported sanction that has to do with an NCAA rule. They generally really don't get involved with rules only applying to a conference. The SEC did not make this rule the NCAA did which gives it complete control. All you have to do is look at what happened to Miami U to see your statement is wrong.
