Maybe you can help me out. Here is what I have observed, correct me if I am wrong.

The SEC office has not traditionally been a regulatory body. They left that to the NCAA.

In the past few years they have taken on more policing responsibilities.

From my perspective, they have been very selective with their new powers. If fact, this and the Valentine deal (had to sit out even after the NCAA gave him the green light) are the only two examples that I know of.

Maybe I am just unaware of other SEC schools receiving sanctions, but it feels like persecution.

Who hires the compliance office workers for LSU? I've heard from several recruits and their families that these guys are borderline anti LSU.
