The best I've had was in Atlanta (Sandy Springs to be exact) at Peter Chang's Tasty China II. The "shan city chicken" was unbelievably hot. It was loaded with peppers and sichuan peppercorns. I've never had a sichuan dish bring that much pain, but it was so damn good. The same with the dan dan noodles. I've had really good stuff in Houston and Dallas, but this was by far the best and hotest. Unfortunately that location closed, but I think there is one in Marietta that the same chef started. I plan on heading back that way in a few months and I'm excited about it.
