After what we saw last year, do we really want them both back? I guess if you can negotiate to keep them for around what their dead money is, then it doesn't hurt for depth. But we should really be looking to get some new blood in there whether it's Lelito, a FA, or a rookie.

All 3 interior spots were pretty bad last year. Hopefully Lelito can win one spot, another won by a FA or rookie, and since I'm guessing we'll keep one of Grubbs and Evans, they can hold down the 3rd spot and hopefully improve from last year.

My thoughts exactly.....Plain and simple, we were bad on the interior last year and keeping any of Grubbs/Goody/Jahri does not make us better at those positions....I have always like Jahri and the way he goes about his business, but we need an upgrade at both G's and C

How does keeping at least one veteran player in a rotation of new players not improve the position? Players have to learn somewhere, I'd rather them learn from someone like Evans. It's one thing to hear it from the coaches, it's a completely other thing to hear it from a decorated peer. You also cannot discount his long history with Brees, which has a direct impact on at-the-line blocking adjustments.

Everyone knows that. But you have to consider depth and experience in the whole equation, and I guarantee the FO is currently doing that. Every active player on a roster is worth something. Evans/Grubbs have a cost associated with simply cutting them, so it would make the most sense to negotiate a new contract (which the Saints appear to be doing) with one or both of them.
