I don't understand the twitch culture at all. I watch it when someone's got early access to a game and happens to be streaming it at the right time. But other than that I just never saw the appeal in watching someone else play video games, let alone give them money for it, but more power to those who actually make a living doing it. Maybe I'm just not watching the right people.

It's fun for MP to watch for me. I suck as MP and with games like SC it love watching the tourney matches when I am bored with my library. There used to be a couple of English guys that streamed Minecraft that were fun to watch but I have lost their names and stream.

Regarding watching video games, I compare it to sports:
Why watch nfl or college football? You could go out with your buddies and throw a football around yourself right? Or shoot hoops etc
Basically, It is enjoyable for some to watch people play something you enjoy, at a very high level. Then you find personalities you like and follow them.
Eventually you learn some tricks you can use in your own games. Twitch is entertaining, educational for your hobby, and exciting.
Donating money makes no sense to me but if people can afford it and it makes them happy, go for it.
Chill streams help me get to sleep as well.

You probably just haven't found the right people.
The idea of watching people game isn't really all that different than watching sports.
Personally I love watching elite Counterstrike and Smash Bros players b/c I learn new and better ways to play.
