also on days like today, when I'm just sitting here at this desk, wasting my life away, I really wish I would have taken the time to learn carpentry from my Dad.

He always tried to teach, but as a teenager, carpentry isn't cool or sexy, so I just never cared.

Now the idea of working in a shop, working with wood all day at my own pace and setting my own schedule sounds like a dream.

Got a buddy that graduated with me from Auburn that did this years ago. He makes speciality furniture, cabinets, and other carpentry things for businesses and high end homes. He loves it and makes a decent living.


ETA: I hated working in a cubicle and doing sales. Quit and joined an electrical apprenticeship at age 41. Plan to run my own business as soon as I can get my license. It's never too late.
