I wasn't planning on getting this after reading the reviews, but most people who have played the game say it's actually decent. Then I started thinking about the fact that I've paid $60 in the past to play Call of Duty single player campaigns and how games like Gears of War offer campaigns of a similar length.

I'm about halfway through the game (7 of 15?), and so far, I really like the game. The graphics and art style are well-realized and the story is intriguing.

It reminds me of a cross between Uncharted/Heavy Rain and Gears of War. It's very linear but given its cinematic feel, that's part of the point. Gunplay is very responsive and as old hat as the cover-shooter may be in 2015, it's still a lot of fun.

The biggest annoyance for me at times is how the black bars limit your field of view. In cover, you pretty much can't see anything else aside from your character and the wall you're sitting behind.

The Order: The Perfect Rental

It feels like a huge missed opportunity. It's too drab and serious, needs more monsters, the QTE shite feels like a satire of itself.

I'm about through with it and have no clue what's going on except I'm hunting werewolves because reasons, but mostly just shooting people. It gets tedious.
