For the rest of his life he will be able to say he started for LSU. That's something 90%+ of this board wishes they could say.

He's going to make a great financial planner with McMakin and Co.

let's face it, he was undertalented good soldier who gave his all. he's like a white, defense playing Anthony Jennings.

If anyone "hates" DJ Welter they need to reevaluate their life.

It's not his fault. The white middle Linebacker and secondary players are a rare occurrence these days. We judge LSU by Alabama, and when was the last time that you've seen a white linebacker play for Saban. I'm just saying
Meh, has much more to so with the area of the country these schools are in.
Recruiting base is predominantly black so therefore recruiting numbers by race follows.
IMO it's important to have a good mix.
Hard to argue that LSU's best teams historically (football and baseball) have had good mix of both white and black players that contributed significantly to their teams success.

A "mix", as in 1-2 out of 11 being white?

He was a below-average LB

As in 7-8/22 starters being white. That's a decent mix.
That's about what we had in 07.

Sorry I can't help but laugh at the idea of it being important to have a "good mix" of black and white on a team.

Don't even get into it with that kid.
His little penis stiffens up everytime I post.
There's nothing I posted above that isn't 100% true.
It's like those two top recruits miss state signed this year.
Neither are gonna qualify academically... One of which we went all out for.
I don't understand why LSU wastes their time with kids who won't be around to help the program either bc they aren't smart enough to stay in school or they lack what it takes to keep clean and stay out of trouble.

Couldn't you have just made a Video on vine for his highlights?

Sure. We had some white guys in 2007 and 2003. That's why we were good, though? Interesting.

'Cause they're black, right?

He had a better college career than all of us who have bashed him.

After watching the highlights, I see several things that made DJ Welter a very poor middle LB, besides being undersized.
1) Welter's feet always stop on contact. He never keeps his feet moving through the tackle
2) Welter never stopped someone in their tracks in the hole. It was always a few yards downfield and the runner is usually falls forward. The times he did tackle someone in the backfield, he was usually assisted by another player.
3) slow reaction time. Fills the hole too slow.
4) could not get off blocks.
All of these things, besides not keeping his feet moving through the tackle, could be attributed to his small size and speed for a middle linebacker in the SEC.
