I'm more disturbed by the fact he thinks Live is a good band.

No, the best heavy metal band of the 90s is Alice in Chains. If they don't qualify, which I think they do, it is then Pantera.

And I'm disturbed about the thought of AIC being described as heavy metal.

Even if you count Alice in Chains, Pantera wins this contest unopposed.

Those are 3 and 4 behind Megadeth and Metallica. Rust in Peace and Countdown to Extinction both came out in the 90's. Youthanasia and Cryptic Writings were awesome as well, but just on the strength of the first 2, I don't see how anyone can argue against Megadeth.

If we're going to allow Alice in Chains then we have to allow Tool and Tool clearly > AiC.
