My boat is a 19 Mako, but it has a deep V. I can go all the places you go in your dad's boat.

to the OP, all the bay boats mentioned the most in this thread are not deep V boats and IMO cannot handle the bays adequately without a little more length. Your budget is enough to get you all you need and more (if you go used). If you are worried about spending money on gas, I can't see how you are willing to spend $32K on a boat.
