Yeah, people forget that SNL is pretty reliant on the election cycles to maintain relevancy. It was pretty ridiculous when people in 2008 were acting like SNL had been unfairly disrespected in the previous years, totally ignoring the fact it blew for a few seasons and then the '08 election and Sarah Palin happened.
