With games coming up against A&M, Ole Miss and Arkansas --

Feb 17 @ TAM
Feb 21 vs FLA
Feb 24 @ AUB
Feb 28 vs OM
Mar 4 vs TEN
Mar 7 @ #24 ARK

-- the three of them ahead of us by only 1.5 games or less --

Kentucky 12-0 25-0
Arkansas 8-3 19-5
Ole Miss 8-3 17-7
Texas A&M 7-4 16-7
LSU 7-5 18-7
Georgia 7-5 16-8
Tennessee 6-6 14-10
Alabama 5-6 15-9
Florida 5-6 12-12
Mississippi St 4-7 11-13
Auburn 4-8 12-13
Vanderbilt 3-8 13-11
South Carolina 3-9 12-12
Missouri 1-10 7-17

-- there's plenty of reason to be optimistic about our tourney chances.

It seems this team has built from the Kentucky game, as opposed to letting it become their Waterloo. They took away from that close loss all the positives, and believe in themselves. If they continue to play together and grow as a team, they will make the tourney. It's right there for the taking.

Outside of possibly the Arkansas game, only LSU can beat LSU.

I like that we get Ole Miss at home.

All 3 home games are hopefully wins, and @AU - we should be motivated after losing at home to them.

If we can pull of one of @TAMU or @ARK, then LSU is a lock for NCAA IMO.

That's 5-1.

If we go 4-2, we're still a bubble team and SECT will have more bearing. 3-3 = NIT most likely.

I'm really surprised they were able to win today. Even if they had beaten UK I thought today would be too much of an emotional letdown. So glad I was wrong. This better play can be traced back to the Bama game whe Jones FINNALY got his best 5 players on the court from the start. It's no coinciden that LSU has started red hot in all 3 games. There is no reason to waste time with Gray and Malone and get off to a slow start. Get going early, and it can usually carry you through

So you mean people who do bracketology for a living know more than the people here?

I mean every single mock bracket right now still has LSU in (but barely)

Absolutely. We've made it tougher than it has to be or should be but it's still in our hands.

Had some flashbacks in the second half, but that first half was better than anything I could have dreamed.
