What could cause a bottle of sealed water to turn black like this?

My brother-in-law found a never opened bottle of Dasani in his backyard by his shed and took these pics. Could it just be the heat making the plastic melt of does Dasani add shite to the water that would react to the heat and sun?

Here is what came out when he smashed it open:

Dasani is just filtered tap water with nutrients added. That may have something to do with it.

That would be because Dasani is disgusting.

I'm thinking that's Coke or Dr. Pepper instead of water.

Bacteria in the water using up all the Dissolved Oxygen, caused the water to go septic. Did it smell when he opened it?

Looks like someone who worked at the bottling plant used that for a spit bottle and sealed it up for poops and giggles.
That what I said to him!

Popular bottled water brand Dasani, for example, lists magnesium sulfate, potassium chloride, and salt alongside purified water on its Nutrition Facts label

None of those things would make it go black.
Shame he opened it. Would have made a nice lawsuit.

Why would he need to smash it to open it? You could've just held the top with your teeth and let him turn the bottle clockwise.

because smashing is more fun.
