I hate the sloppy Mexican brick work that's popular now days. I miss the old tool jointing or raking days when a masons skill could be seen and was appreciated. Anyway, if what you're wanting is that white film off you can wash it. Muriatic acid a lot of times is not recommended on newer bricks. They make alternative products though (vanatrol, sure klean etc). Just ask your brick supplier what the recommend. Then get those messicans back out there to scrub that shite and pressure wash it.

i second sure clean 600(Prosoco), but only after the brick mortar has dried and you have had a talk with your mason. The mason should've built you a sample board and done a trial run of his sack washing and had you sign off on it before he started smearing mortar on that brick.
