These are the same bricks.
Our bricks are supposed to be finished like the first photo.

The second photo is how it actually came out after the mortar dried today.
Will some of that wash off?
What are options/cost of fixing? I'm told there's an acid option.

sack finishes vary depending on the mason. its all done by human hands and even a mason will have variations in his work. it will "weather" some and provide more "brick relief". based on the second pic, it aint THAT bad.
yes, it can be altered w/an acid wash.

ps: i wouldnt call that first pic "sacked". its more a "no tooling on the joints" finish.
side note - i've built over 250 houses in BR and have had a total of one sack-job done

Use a gallon of water and 1/4 gallon acid. Either a scrub brush or sprayer. It will come off

Wait til it dries completely. My wife freaked on ours too. It won't be so bad in a week
Btw first pic is "dirty" second is "sacked". That was the first mistake

Had mine done two years ago and its thinned out a bit from rain.

The bottom thinned out a lot, from my wife with a powerwasher

I actually like the way yours turned out, except for the unevenness.
