Wilson isn't worth that much, but the position is, so he'll get it.

What does this even mean?

Wilson's contract will be based on future production, not just current production. Wilson is a young player and therefore expected to improve, and the Seahawks will pay him more because they know that and so does the rest of the NFL

I have no idea what you're trying to say. He's worth X amount of money in free agency. That's his value.
I'm agreeing with that. But the Seahawks themselves are not required to be the ones to pay that. His value to them might be different (it's not in this case, but in general it can be)

They need to sign Lynch back & improve the weapons around RW.

Well, yeah obviously.
And chances are that he would get more from the free market, that's just the nature of the system.
He could choose to take a pay cut to stay in a system that works well for him and hope to make up the difference via endorsements, branding, etc.
But that doesn't change his free market value (but it wouldn't allow him to put a real number on it).

Smart teams compare players to their value within their organization, not to what the market will pay, which for some players, those numbers can be drastically different.
Smart teams also think about the cost of replacement. Odds of them lucking into a another guy on $700K contract that'll get them to 2 Super Bowls is low.

There is a salary cap. They're gonna shell out on defense, they can't also shell out on offense. They'll pay Wilson but I think Lynch gets a better deal on the market and they don't upgrade at receiver. They have too many players to pay on defense as is, and Wilson is a $15-20 million cap hit to the nuts

Exactly.
But they already have most of their key defensive guys signed.
And they don't have any UFAs this year. It all happens next year.
IMO if they're smart they let beastmode walk, and sign Wilson to a slight discount (if they can).
RBs are a dime a dozen. Not all are Beastmode, but many are close for a better bargain and Lynch is getting older and is a power back. It's doubtful he ages well.

My statements did not contradict each other.

Russell has led that team to countless comeback wins. It was Russell who went down the field and scored the td vs. Green Bay. He did the same thing vs. Denver earlier in the season. He has scored 30+ countless times with no weapons other than Lynch.
Seattle wasn't shot before Wilson got there.

Or they can continue to Draft well and replace the vets with younger players.

This is a DEEP running back class. They should draft one of those guys in the second round.
What they do in the first round will be interesting but I expect a heavy offensive draft for them.

What was Seattles defensive ranks before and after Wilson. I'm pretty sure they were #1 the last 2 and top 5 his rookie. Before that they weren't. That's why they weren't shite. Not Russell. Flynn could have led them to a super bowl. And before U say no he couldn't. 2 words. Colin Kap.
