The seahwaks were driving regardless ofmthat play. The point is neither peyton normbrady's greatness should be definded by super bowls

Now that you say it, I can see it. But I like him better than Tebow for it.

Slightly OT, I was wondering why NE didn't call a TO at some point. Everyone had to assume Seattle was going to punch it in. Give Brady a little time to do something if so.

Especially considering I think Brady would be just as all time great with less rings. Logic is really escaping some of you right now.

So if Jordan didn't win a single championship is he still the greatest?
Because a shooting guard on a 5 man basketball team is totally the same as a QB on a football team with 22 starters and 11 special teamers.
Some of you are totally missing this guys point.
Brady was one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time when he put the Pats up by 4. Butler getting that int didn't magically make him greater, and he wouldn't have magically been worse if Wilson throws the winning TD pass there.
That's all the guy is saying. Using rings as a metric of QB greatness is a little silly. That's all.

Nice try. Your logic is that nothing that happens outside of Tom Brady makes him a better QB. You say that just because the Pats intercepted the ball and won had no bearing on making Brady any better. Well, for him to have the production/efficiency that you say makes him better then Mett, it requires people outside of Brady. Brady didn't catch the ball, someone else had to.
You contradict yourself to prove your points.

It kind of does make him better. He won the MVP. U know the best player on the field. If he loses he doesn't win it. U don't want to count super bowl Mvps either?

It's funny seeing all the "you're butthurt" guys as they don't realize this idea is just as much pro-Brady as it is anti-Brady

K. Re-read the OP, and I do agree with you more. BUT, Brady becomes the QB who goes 0-3 in his last 3 SB's. "What have you done for me lately" world we live in. I think people do view him differently if Seattle punches it in.

blah blah blah, yes the argument works. Brady is just as good of a QB if the final score was 28 24 or 31-28. But when the Brady greatest QB debate comes up, you won't look at almost Super Bowl wins you will look at Super bowl wins.
Just think about this debate
who is better
Brady 4 Super Bowls
Bradshaw 4 Super Bowls
Montana 4 Super Bowls.
if Brady only had 3 super bowls do you think he would win the argument as greatest QB ever?
Yes Super Bowl rings are relevant. It's not the only thing but when it comes to debating the greatest QBs in NFL history championships are a huge part of it.

The MVP never goes to a guy on the losing team. That has nothing to do with how well one individual performs, it's just etiquette.
Brady's stat line is exactly the same whether Wilson scores or turns it over. Do you really believe that his performance is defined by an event that happened when he wasn't even on the field?

Brady is no better or worse because Pete Carroll made the biggest coaching gaffe in the history of coaching gaffes.
3 rings, 4 rings, he's literally no different of a QB, no better or worse.
I think the flaw in your logic is that you are concentrating on one play. He had to do a lot of good things (and overcome some bad things) to get his team to be in that position. And, as others have said he had to do a lot during the regular season and playoffs to even be there.
So a Superbowl ring represents much more than just one play.

I don't judge how good a guy is by an awar sportswriters or whoever pick.

Your logic is off. You're trying to use one play as an example of why SB rings don't matter, all while ignoring everything that makes them the most coveted hardware in sports, and that's a full season's body of work topped off with performing on the ultimate stage.
Sure in this case you could say Brady isn't much different whether the Seahawks score there or not, but this is a unique example considering he's the only QB to play in 6 SB's. His legacy is pretty much defined. Go ask Jim Kelly if rings are irrelevant.
