Why frequent gun shows, why not just start searching everyone's home?

You even admit here that it isn't 100% foolproof to just be a "good guy."
Most people probably they break the law more daily than just by speeding on the road or not coming to a complete stop at a stop sign. Life has gotten so complicated and filled with laws that being a "good guy" doesn't always keep you out of trouble.
Besides that, even if you have "nothing to hide" they could easily mistaken your vehicle for some big bad "drug lord" and have all your assets taken for no reason.
I am 100% against any sort of data collection.
And hasn't it already been proven that most firearms used in crimes are Straw Purchases (having someone with a clean record get a gun for a felon)? And then second-most is stolen firearms? I'm pretty sure gun shows are at the very bottom of that totem pole.

I don't like the fact toll booth cameras scan my plates

I bet you'd let green jeans steal your SD cards also.

I don't have an SD card. Besides, strawmen are not interesting.

Do you think the info will be used only to catch "badies"?

yes.
Well, it's good to know I'm not the only "naive" one here.

Yeah, the DEA has an anti gun nut agenda. Here's your hat.

Not just they. The DEA got the assignment.

I guess guns are addicting, like drugs, just look at TTT's ammo stockpile.
Either way, it's still tactical time

No, I didn't say the DEA has an anti-gun nut agenda. What I did was point out the inconsistencies in the DEA's own email. If questioning the role of an ever expanding big government and bureaucracies (some of whom have been shown to have less than proper purposes) gets me a free hat, then so be it. OTOH, I guess you have so many green hats to pass out because you've been wearing them yourself.

What the hell does the DEA have any business at a gun show? Shouldn't it at least be the BATF doing this line of investigative work?

There are misguided people throughout society who believe that gun shows are centers for illegal gun sales and should be shut down. Some of those misguided people work at DEA. They would love to demonstrate that gun shows are filled with drug dealers and other criminals in order to justify shutting them down.
