epic if Jennings starts
If he starts with no noticeable improvement, yes it will get nasty. The boo birds will come out quickly.

There's a reason Harris didn't play more, and I don't know that reason any more than anyone else on here does.
That's the $64K question. It surely wasn't due to Jennings' performance. Something else was going on for Harris to not see any playing time.
Miles repeatedly stated he planned to get Harris into the game and then repeatedly stated the opportunity never presented itself. I love Miles but that was simply a lot of BS.
I have no idea what Harris would've accomplished but there's no way it could've been worse than Jennings. Some argue inserting Harris would hurt his development. Maybe they're correct. I believe giving him some quality time (not necessarily starting) would've given us a head start on 2015.
The secrecy was similar to JL/JJ and that's why many were upset. It would've been nice to use BH like we did RP and have him come in occasionally to disrupt the defense. Instead we stuck with "3 & out" Jennings.

He got more out of Harris than Les has, that doesn't qualify as a poor excuse of a coach in my book

I love how everyone blames Les Miles for Harris not starting. How about you go out an beat him?
Lee beat Jefferson, didn't get him back on the field

No the coach is not helping any...and learning a pro-style offense is a lot different than that spread, passing attack that Parkview deploys. Taking up for your old player is one thing, but maybe you give tough love and tell the player to prepare harder.
First off, Brandon played at Parkway, not Parkview. Second, everyone here assumes BH has zero experience in a pro style offense when Parkway lined up in I-formation 35% of the time his senior year.

Correct. Lee was undefeated on the year and one down half and he's out for the year.

Well, where there is smoke there is fire..if Les sticks with AN, BH is not going to stick around, imo
It take TWO to Tango. Whether something is wrong with BH or LM, one thing is for sure, they don't Tango and if I were him, with an intention of playing after college, then I would move along now - they just don't Tango

Yep. We needed Jefferson to beat Bama that year but Lee should've started the next week against WKU.

Having said that it would be a poor assumption to think that he won't get any better.
Why?...time doesn't necessarily equate to improvement. If that were true, why was he still awful at the conclusion of the season?
A poor assumption would be to believe he'll eventually be an average QB if we continue to give him opportunities. We don't have unlimited time to waste. He had more than enough time to improve and he didn't. It's time to move on.
If a student sits in class everyday at a top-rated school, with high paid teachers, and classmates willing to help him study...and he still scores a "F" on every exam, are we to believe he'll be in the National Honor Society the next year?
You may not give up on the kid but you certainly don't select him to represent you at the next Varsity Quiz Bowl.
Grab a clipboard Anthony!

Where dafuq all this Harris not prepared shite come from!?!? He looked prepared on those 9 touchdowns he scored this season. And if he was so unprepared this season, can someone explain to me how does any one of Jennings performances support that he was more prepared??? I have never seen such an atrocity at the qb position in my life.

everyone wanted Harris to start after the NMSU game. that didn't turn out so well
If he would have been allowed to start more than one game i have a hard time believing he could have been worse than Jennings was.
If I were Harris and had any confidence at all that I could take my talent to the next level, and Jennings is starting after spring ball, there is no way I'm hanging around. It's not like he has to beat out Mariota or is playing behind a seasoned veteran. Jennings did absolutely nothing to make anyone think that he is the future....nothing.

Heard the exact same percentage from a Parkway assistant coach at church about 3 weeks ago...total misnomer that the kid never lined up under center in HS.
He needed time and expected to redshirt his freshman year...hard for people sometimes(or a lot of times) have just a little bit of patience.

Guess I was right. I said harris shouldn't start for aub game, that he should come in after a couple series. Look what happened. ..Harris got ruined and never saw the field again. And might not again for lsu. You don't throw a kid in a game like that.

This shite is gonna be epic if Jennings starts next year. I'd love to see him start first game just for the melt!!!
The Spring Game is not the end all be all by any means, but Harris did outperform Jennings last year. (Still didn't play all that well) If he does it again this year, while looking like he's making a big leap, people are going to be ready to leap if AJ rolls out week 1. I'll hope he figured out how to be a decent QB, but another game like everyone he has ever played and I'll melt with everyone else.

On the field production >>>>>>>> practice
Jennings wasn't getting it done whatsoever, even vs the horrific competition.
To Not allow Harris to redeem himself after a bad first start, was criminal.
Kyle Allen at atm looked shitty in his first start and he was at home vs a weak inferior team and they barely won.. But atm stuck with him and was on fire the next week.. They made their switch and stuck with their future and they are in better shape going forward. The more talented guy should eventually be on the field, especially after 3 losses.
JT Barrett at OSU as a RS Freshman had a horrific start early in the season at HOME vs a terrible VT team in which he threw 3 ints and they lost. He bounced back to have a heisman stat like season before his ultimate injury. Spare me the competition crap, the point is they got to redeem themselves. Harris never once did.
Miles has these quarterbacks so afraid to make a mistake it's like they have to walk on eggshells. They probably feel like they have to do too much when they are asked to do too little. All things equal then the more talented guy should see the field and be given the trust. We should be confident enough that if we make a mistake or turnover.. We should be confident to overcome come that and strike quickly based on talent.
Jennings accounted for 11 total TDs ALL season long. That is including the bowl game. 11! 11.. Total TDs.
Harris in very limited time accounted for 9 total TDs!! Only 2 less than a guy who played all season long.. Harris had like 3 rushing TDs where as Jennings had 0. Harris is far more effective in getting the team TDs when inside the redZone because he possesses a legit throwing and a legit rushing attack. He opened everything up for the offense, think about the time Harris lead LSU to 9 straight offensive TDs out of 10 possessions and the only non td drive ended on a Hail Mary attempt that had to take place because of the time..
Harris should have gotten playing time during the Arky shut out, especially since we kept having to settle for fgs. Harris gets us in the endzone via TD.
Harris should have absolutely played the following week vs one of the worst and softest defenses at atm. This was a golden opportunity to gain confidence and momentum. We already had 4 losses at this point! Jennings got to have his best game and fans were encouraged by the offense opening up, but even still in his best game it was still very average stats. Harris would have lit them up.
Then vs Notre Dame, a game in which ND wasn't shy to play both guys.. Harris still saw no action and we went on to lose to this pathetic team who had like 3 starters on the entire D and a team that lost 5 straight in a close game. You can blame the D, sure., but there were opportunities in that game to get touchdowns and put this game away and we stalled out. I believe Harris gets us into the endzone far more often than Jennings. Period.
This is why I do not even care when Miles makes statements like we will throw for 250 yards or whatever he said. That's not what's inportant. What's important is not having drives stall out inside the redzone and being capable of throwing and rushing for TDs. Harris is your guy here.
ALL OF THIS. Miles is the ONLY coach in the nation that would have kept Harris on the bench like that all season. Team Harris. I don't understand some of yalls logic.
Posted on 1/28/15 at 10:45 am to Louisianabeast
Could be just a coach who cares about a former player but then again if Harris was up for recruiting again guess who regains some prestige? If nothing else the coach gets a lot of free meals and drinks. Of course, no one is ever self interested right?
