The title of the thread says "most overrated cities". I gave my answer with reasons.

What else do you want me to do?

Subpar sports and subpar restaraunts isn't necessarily my cup of tea.

houston has a better overall dining scene than Nola. that is not debateable.

and Houston has the 4 major sports while Nola has 2, so that's an even weaker argument

What do you like to do when you visit Houston?

all the stuff i enjoy when i go to any major city. unless you're in NYC or like Miami, a big city is a big city to me

houston has more shite to do and more major events than nola, though. the only reason i go to Nola more than Houston is CLEs

I also vote for Arlington, va

Never trust a place where 15% of the population works for the federal government.

I like the outdoors but don't hate big cities. Wouldn't want to live in one. I dislike people too much for that.

Nobody overrates New Orleans outside of Louisiana. I'd say Austin.

It's one thing to answer a question. It's another to flex nuts about "how much more fun I have on the weekends"

I don't even live in Houston anymore, for the record.

Subpar restaurants.

Have you ever been to Houston?

And NO has subpar sports, so you should be used to that.

I'm just saying. You never hear anyone say, "Hey, let's go to Houston for the weekend" or " Hey let's take the kids to Houston for spring break, thanksgiving break, Christmas, NYE, etc.".
Or "hey let's get married is Houston" "let's go to Houston for_____ fill in the blank".

It's not a place where people generally go for leisure

that's a pretty dumb argument.

not being the most popular vacation destination =/= overrated.

and plenty of people go to houston for leisure.

that makes it underrated if anything.

People aren't rating it highly and you call it overrated?

A little not fair to compare nola and houston considering houston has a consumer population they cater to greater than the entire state of La. I would hope to god they would have at least a few people that would demand nice resturants, museums, entertainment in general. So of course a city of that size would have those things. Just don't see anywhere where it should be compared to nola.
