I think this may have changed for Police Officers lately, or maybe there was some legislation introduced. Dawg or bapple probably know.
Contrary to what State Police and other State officials were telling people, the Federal Law Enforcement Ofiicer Safety Act(LEOSA) preempted State Law and allowed off duty police officers to carry in a bar. The Louisiana Concealed Carry Statute allowed CC permit holders to carry in a restaurant that serves alcohol. This past year, State laws were amended to make it clear to everyone.

This is what I was taught,, but to very much use common sense about it.
In other words, if I want to go get mexxycun food and there are margy ritas being served in there, no problem. But, if I go there to sit at the bar and suck on coronas, I should not have anything in my pocket. Again, common sense, cause there is usually a difference between "bar" and restaurant settings, IMO.
