Unless you know someone with the land you are going to be leasing, the cost to lease per acre in one of those premier parishes or counties is probably $30-40/acre range.

If you want 1,200 acres and 8 members, you're at $4,500-$6,000/year without putting a kernel of corn or a pellet of protein on the ground, that's without planting an acre of oats and fertilzing, Not having a place to stay, running water or electricity. No tractor or diesel to maintain the roads. No stands.... there's a lot more that goes into it.

I guess you and whack are both deer hunters now. Im pretty sure dmatb is gonna be a full time deer hunter in the near future as well.
