Yes they were.

So was Rettig. We also had Mett for 2 years before that who was very sought after. Jarrett Lee was an Elite 11 QB. Hell, even Jordan Jefferson was a 4* guy.

Before that we had Ryan Perrilloux, the #1 QB in the country. Before that we had 4* Matt Flynn and Jamarcus Russell.

We have Feleipe Franks committed who is very sought after and Shea Patterson in state who we are putting a full court press on for.

So in summary, you have no idea what you're talking about. We recruit highly regarding high school QBs, but have just done a poor job developing them or keeping them on campus.

So all of these highly sought after qb's were great in high school but turn to mediocre when they get to LSU? You got a theory on that one?

Everyone knows Jennings is average or below. Not just the rant says this but all the national commentators too. And yet Rettig leaves without getting in a game and Harris sits the bench. Jarrett Lee is benched after playing quite well his senior year because he throws two interceptions in the Alabama game.

The greatest qb's in the game have all thrown two interceptions in a game. They were not benched the rest of their career.

Mett we got because he was damaged goods and came out of JC. If you remember he signed with Georgia originally.

So how did Mett develop if we do such a poor job? Could it be he had more talent than the rest of these guys put together? What does that say about recruiting when the best qb we have in eight years is someone else's castoff?

I do have a theory on that one. My theory is you're absolutely wrong.

Russell, Flynn, Perrilloux (when on team), and Mett all performed at a high level.

Perrilloux getting kicked off screwed us because we had to throw Jarrett Lee to the wolves and it messed him up. Then Zach Lee came to campus and practiced and was expected to be a part of the team, but the Dodgers gave him 5 million dollars, which was not expected.

Those two things have hurt.

Lee still played well in 2011 before being benched for Jefferson. And we did go undefeated until the national title game.

Jennings hasn't played well and seems to be regressing. However Harris, a true freshman, showed flashes of brilliance. The offensive play calling this year didn't help either QB out or play to their strengths. Hopefully that changes next year.

Again, its not recruiting. Its development and play calling.

The OP is saying we don't recruit good QBs which is so hilariously false it hurts to think about.
