It absolutley blows my mind that a sport with so much money poured into it and owners who have a stable of drivers can't figure out a way to let somebody win.
Why would a car owner let a rival car owner win? Why would a driver let a rival driver win?
So but your friend is a fricking idiot and it doesn't bode well for you that you believed him.

Excellent career. I would rank him ahead of Darrell Waltrip but behind Ricky Rudd.

I know this isn't the right thread or anything... but what is NASCAR's ratings from week to week?

Every time Jeff has gotten into a scuffle I'm standing up about 3 feet from the TV yelling "KICK HIS arse JEFF!" Like that's ever gonna happen
I'm the same way. Good thing all the shoving matches he's gotten in have all been with someone the same size as him. I was glad Bowyer never got close to him, I figured he would have killed Jeff

I didn't say that I believed what my friend said, I just said he said it was and he was a big nascar fan. He has since passed.
Alright crimson lets play this game. You and me are on the same team. You have a chance to win the cup, me, no. You and me are neck and neck in a race that would be pivotal in the points race to win the cup. Who wins?
I'm not trolling, but I have yet read where this sport isn't swayed by some outside variables, thats all.
Shake and bake baby.

Yea you could try to help him win and let him finish ahead of you but the problem is the 41 other drivers who are giving their all to beat you and your teammate

Can you bet on nascar like football/basketball etc? You know, through a bookie. Just wondering.

I've never understood the appeal of watching cars go around in an oval not once but 500 freaking times.
Also, I did not realize a Nascar driver's team is that big.
But yet you understand the appeal of posting in a Nascar thread

ahhhhh, it took a while, but it finally reared its head... from the bottom of my heart and 50 miles down the road here in Alexandria
Posted on 1/22/15 at 2:05 pm to VernonPLSUfan
You've truly shown your ignorance here. There was a team that tried doing some funny shite at the end of a race to get a car qualified for the chase. It cost them dearly, lost sponsorship (10-20 million), reputation, etc.

Apparently this is the offseason Nascar thread where all things Nascar including bitching about Nascar is included

One month from today. (I think)

Wait, I don't mean to hijack things, but you think Rudd had a better career than DW? Interesting. What's the reasoning on that?
This is crazy for me though. Apparently, when I was little (born in 1994), I became the reason my family started watching NASCAR. Whenever my dad would flip past it on tv, I'd get excited and cheer for the "Cars!" Gordon's bright paint scheme caught my eye, I guess, so he became my favorite car before I really knew anything. So this is really strange to see him retiring considering how he's changed my life. The family goes to both Bristol races and usually 2 others all because of a rainbow paint scheme and fast cars catching a 2 year old's eye.

Hope he kicks DW out of the booth and take his spot.

Yep I don't think he was being serious, just polishing his hook
Absolutely

Seriously, I would either put him #3 or tied with Petty for second greatest.
