No because the QB's would be throwing horrible footballs and not all QB's want the ball the same.
When I was at SMS we took 50 balls with us to each game and the night before or day of game, depending if night or day game, the QB would pick his 6 or 12 balls he wanted. Then he would also pick the 3 we used for QB Warmup and QB Sidelines.
Now we would send them in at 13.5 lbs and have a ball boy deflate them to 12 or 11.5 as game went on if our QB asked, depending on conditions, air pressure, humidity.
We also used White Tacky towels under the half towels for our QB for better grip (also illegal).
The best things we did was Silicon Spray the Yokes of the DL as that was odorless and tasteless but OL cound not get off hand and very slippery and we wore 5/8" cleats instead of 1/2" as you could not tell difference just looking at them. We would magic marker these cleats black until they allowed metal tips.
