Hardtops are quieter and tend not to leak as much. They are harder to remove. As stated above, its a two person job or you need a winch system in your garage to remove.
As for a soft top, which I have and prefer, are noisier and do tend to leak (factory brand)but you can remove it on a whim and enjoy the freedom.
As for owning a Jeep, realize what you are buying. Its a Jeep, not a Denali or a some sort of car. Its loud, gets shitty gas millage, things break, top leaks but its a Jeep.![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/Iconcheers.gif)

Exactly.
But compared to my '83 CJ7, the new Jeeps are like a Bentley!
