Saints/49ers '11 still hurts. They choked, got it back, and choked again.

Definite greater chokes (all-sport)

Bills/Oilers
Blazers/Lakers Game 7 Western Conference Finals
Jan Van de Velde
The woman who was up a set and 5-1 in the second (or something like that) and lost Wimbledon
The guy a couple of years ago who crashed all alone into the wall on the final turn of the Indy 500
Sox/Mets '86
Angels/Sox '86
Sox/Yankees '04
'64 Phillies
Gonzaga/UCLA

I'm sure you can come up with more.

This one is good, but it has some stiff competition for top ten all time. It's near the top if you count NFL only.

Yankees squandering a 3-0 series lead in the 2004 ALCS. Biggest in my opinion. Choked 4 games in a row

Top 2 all-time. Could be #1 considering the stakes.

It didn't feel like a choke job to me. Just a helluva comeback.

Can't believe nobody has mentioned the Ernest Byner fumble and Elway drive. Now THAT was a choke job, especially given that it was the Browns.

You can't be serious?

"A helluva comeback"? It was 16-0, should have been a minimum of 20-0 and that was just one of the many derps GB and especially, Mccarthy committed today. Seattle did score to comeback but look at the scores they had. It was a choke, possibly the biggest ever considering it was for a trip to the SB.

You must not be old enough to remember the Browns' loss in the AFC championship. All Byner had to do was hold onto the football going into the end zone, but instead he fumbled and Elway drove them to victory. Can't remember the exact details but I know there was only about 2 mins left. Considering the stakes and that it was Cleveland, it buries this game in terms of choke jobs.

So now you switch up your argument. You said this game wasn't a choke, now you're trying the "you must not be old enough..." line. I'm about to be 40. I remember that game. That was a choke, but a much tighter game. This was near a blow out and SEA was still turning the ball over in the 2nd half. And then suddenly, it became a SEA win

I agree the Packers blew it but considering the stakes, and the fact it was Cleveland, "The Fumble" was a much bigger choke. People still talk about it today. I doubt people will even remember this game in 5 yrs.

I'm old enough to remember and those two AFC championship losses by the Browns to the Broncos are not REMOTELY in the same league with what happened today.

Green Bay had complete control of the game and threw it away.

Those two Cleveland-Denver games were nip and tuck with neither team in complete control late in the 4th quarter.

btw, the Byner fumble was in the second AFC championship match up, which was played in Denver. The first match up, played in Cleveland, was the one that had "the drive" by Elway late.

Exactly. This game was an epic choke because the game wasn't even in question until all of a sudden it was

We will have to agree to disagree then. That was the last time the Browns made it that far in the playoffs and never made it to the Super Bowl. Green Bay has won their share.
