It sucks that this hobby is now seen as either trying to be a hipster or associated with pretentiousness.

Seems like a relaxing thing to me and it used to be pretty classy too.

I have a Peterson Aran 87

I have a pipe, but I usually only save it for if I am sitting on the porch listening to music. Definitely not the thing to be bringing out in casual conversation.

Anyone on the OT into pipe tobacco smoking?

I used to be a long time ago when I smoked. Stopped smoking completely in the 1990's. Petersons are great pipes!

Personally I think a pipe is a lot cooler than one of those stupid looking vapor pen things.

I bet the original title of this thread was " Any pipe smokers in here?"

Then you realized what a huge mistake that would be.

Don't recall the brand of mine, I had to carve it out of a block of briar wood. It was Polish but other than that I don't remember. I love pipe smoking, super relaxing and with my group of friends it is definitely common. Would like to see it enter the norm again barring the hipsters ruining it for everyone else.

Tried it a couple of times. Could never keep the damn thing lit. Few aromas are as awesome as cavendish tobacco.

I just got done smoking a bowl of Dunhill Nightcap in my Dunhill bent billiard.

Nothing I enjoy better than a quiet afternoon smoking my pipe and reading a book.

Look up gatlinburlier.com
I prefer Newfound Blend, it's not as aromatic as most, but the lack of sugar lets it burn very cool. Their Vanilla smells fantastic.

When my grandfather died,I inherited his smoking pipes, he farmed his whole life so nothing expensive. I'm always on the lookout in antique shops, I've seen some pretty nice pipes for cheap. Made a great deal a couple years ago on a Nat Sherman Freehand.

I enjoy a pipe here and there. Very relaxing.
I get a special blend from the place in Lakeside Mall.

I used to rip pipe tobacco out of a water bong when i was in high school. It almost made you pass out after you exhaled. I did a lot of stupid shite

I use to smoke but never did pipes. I have to say it's one of the great classic and romantic aromas there is, besides.... you know...

Love me a Peterson system pipe with the P-lip and military bit. I used to be an everyday smoker. Maybe three or four bowls a day. My old lady squelched it after we got married and wouldn't let me smoke in the house anymore...

Now I just smoke maybe handful of times per month on the Causeway either a pipe or cigar. At least pipe tobacco is affordable. I like a lot of the MacBarens and Dunhills. That Latakia with Perique hits the spot late in the evenings.

I've got about 50 pipes, Ser Jacopo, Dunhill, Butz-Choquin, MO Meer, Real Meer, Grabow, Savinelli but Peterson systems with the P-lip were the core of my rotation. The real meerschaum is a great dry smoker too, just a plain bent billiard not the fancy intricate carved stuff.

Most bad arse pipe smoker: Lee Van Cleef.

I've got some old merchams, couple old no name briars and couple corn pipes. Enjoy it particularly on my boat

Probably smoke a bowl a month, unless I am on the boat

My Dad smoked a pipe for years, I just love the smell of it. I have never smoked outside of a few cigars while on the TS field after the 2001 Auburn game.

Smoking a pipe is a hobby? I guess you would consider an alcoholic an avid hobbyist?
