I don't understand why people are so against athletes getting some sort of monetary assistance above and beyond a scholarship. These guys aren't allowed to have part time jobs like some of us has in college to supplement income, and many of them come from impoverished families.
You guys are spending thousands on team gear, obsessing over these athletes, and yet you don't want them to get a little more financial help because of what?
