Right, I am not looking at my 58 set right now. I just realized Dick was easily the most popular name in baseball in 58!

That happens sometimes. A big show like this will raise a reserve higher than it would normally be at another venue. It's a chess game or crapshoot depending who is buying and who is selling.

Yeah but in general it seemed like most of the cars were going for less. I mean...they had a couple Ferraris go for around 40K and even an old 1930s Rolls go for that as well.
I guess if you were looking to get a good deal, this was the year to go.

They must have been shitty years/models with very high miles

Even if you can afford that $40k Ferrari, you probably can't afford the maintenance and upkeep cost. Ten or 12 years ago, Testarossas were pretty affordable. I knew some who was about to pull the trigger on one until he found that out. The cost of the machine that is used to interface with the on board diagnostics was over 20 grand itself.

I'm sure this was a big selling point though for those wanting a car like that

Ya that is not a classic year and very high mileage for a Ferrari. Still a cool car though.

Posted already but I think this one was one of my favorites
I'm not a big car person but this car in person was beautiful.

The next time my relatives go to a B-J auction, I'm tagging along. Fascinating for automobile lovers like myself. I even love attending small car auctions & watching the B-J auctions online; can't imagine how great this one would be to actually attend. ...
Sorry I missed out on this one. Incredible car & absolutely stunning; would love to own it ...

Oh my ... I wouldn't know how to act if that was mine. ... Unbelievably gorgeous.

If I'm not mistaken that Vette has C4 or C5 running gear.
Either way it's gorgeous.

Your pictures are excellent. Thanks for taking the time to post them, there is something about these classic cars in showroom condition.

it is a beautiful car but i kinda prefer the cars to be original. the custom market is cool but a lot of cars are 'ruined' in the process imo.

Sweet Jesus that was a steal

Led by the 1950 GM Futurliner (Lot #2501) that raised $4,650,000 ($4 million bid and $650,000 in additional pledges) on Saturday evening, a total of 10 cars crossed the Scottsdale auction to raise $8,735,000 to benefit local and national charities. The Futurliner was donated by Pratte, a Vietnam veteran, to benefit the Armed Forces Foundation.
Sales were record numbers but I thought there would be more $1 million+ cars
