Here's what's confusing...

Let's say you've got a birdwatcher who's a retired Army Ranger. Doesn't own guns. Doesn't eat t-bones. Doesn't hunt. Has a US flag sticker on his Dodge Rebel. He spends no less than 50 hours a week in the woods. Is he an outdoorsman or not?

More outdoorsman than me. I have to have the excuse of killing something to get me out there. He just does it to watch.

Does he tie his own flies?
Does he know the difference between a pin oak and any other kind of oak that isn't a live oak?

If he got caught in an avalanche while trekking in the mountains could he survive Bear Grylls style?
